LINKS TO SOME GREAT SITES

  • GOD'S GOLDEN ACRE

    • Here you can find more information about GGA in South Africa, where I will be volunteering starting in March 2006.  They are always accepting volunteer applications... J

    DATA

    • Standing for Debt AIDS Trade Africa, DATA is an organization that "aims to raise awareness about, and spark response to the crises swamping Africa: unpayable Debts, uncontrolled spread of AIDS, and unfair Trade rules which keep Africans poor."

    ONE CAMPAIGN

    • If you're interested, go here and sign the ONE Declaration or order a white wristband for ONE.  This is a campaign to encourage the US government to pledge just 1% more of the US budget to fighting AIDS and poverty worldwide.

    OPRAH'S ANGEL NETWORK

    • Oprah has been a huge inspiration to me, especially with regards to making the decision to spend a year volunteering in Africa.  On this part of her website, you can search through the many organizations that have received Angel Network donations, and you can also view video clips from Christmas Kindness in South Africa.  (GGA is on there, too!)

    IDEALIST

    • This website is a great tool to use if you are thinking you'd like to do volunteer work.  Volunteer organizations post volunteer openings on here, so you can search by country, language, length of stay, area of interest, and so on.  This is where I found out about GGA.

    CELESTINE VISION

    • James Redfield is the author of Celestine Prophecy and its sequels -- books that have really made a difference in my life.  His writes about actualization and human potential in fictional adventures as well as other nonfiction books.  The website contains many articles and information on the subject, plus updates on the upcoming Celstine Prophecy movie (yeah!).

    WOLVERTON MOUNTAIN

    • Last but definitely not least -- my dad's website.  Besides being a huge supporter of mine, he is also an eccentric man with many interests and pursuits.  On his website, you can read articles about the many different places where he has traveled, self-help articles, and also interviews with interesting people... including me!  If you'd like to go straight to my interview, click here.
